A hardy deciduous Dwarf Tree, prized for its early spring blossoms and edible summer fruit.

In early spring, the branches are smothered in fragrant, white flowers before the leaves emerge.

Produces small (5–12mm), bright red cherries in early summer. They have a sweet-tart flavour and are used for fresh eating, jams, jellies, juices, and even wine.

Typical height of 1.5m to 2.5m with a similar or slightly larger spread, can grow up to 3m in ideal conditions.

The dark green leaves have turn an attractive shade of yellow and orange in the autumn.

Extremely tough and cold-hardy (down to -40°C).

Best in full sun for maximum fruit production, but can tolerate partial shade.

It is tolerant of various soil types, including alkaline soils.

While often described as partially self-fertile, planting two or more different varieties is highly recommended to ensure a heavy fruit crop through cross-pollination.

Only routine maintenance after flowering is needed to remove dead wood or maintain shape.
