Spiraea nipponica 'Snowmound' is a hardy, award-winning deciduous shrub celebrated for its graceful, arching branches that become completely smothered in clusters of pure white flowers in late spring and early summer.

Reaching a typical height and spread of 1.5m to 2.5m (5–8ft), its dense, dark blue-green foliage provides a beautiful backdrop for later-flowering plants before turning yellowish-green in autumn.

Its spreading habit makes it an excellent flowering hedge or screen for seating areas.

Its compact, arching form works well near garden entrances or as a standalone specimen.

Best in full sun for the most prolific blooming, though it can tolerate light, dappled shade.

Highly adaptable and can tolerate clay, dry soil, and urban pollution.

Keep new plants well-watered until established.

As it blooms on the previous year's wood, prune immediately after flowering.

Cut flowered shoots back to strong buds to encourage new growth for next year.
