Butterfly Lavender
£4.99
Butterfly Lavender (Lavandula stoechas), often called French or Spanish lavender, is a compact, aromatic shrub (up to 60cm) known for purple-blue, pineapple-shaped flower heads topped with distinctive, upright, wing-like bracts. Ideal for sunny pots or borders, it flowers from late spring, attracting bees and butterflies.
Blooms earlier than English lavender, often from April/May to July, with regular deadheading encouraging more blooms.
Thrives in full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil.
Borderline hardy (down to -10°C) prefers sheltered spots to avoid winter wetness, which can kill roots.
Flowers to late september.
