Boston Fern
£6.99
The Boston Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata) is a popular, pet-friendly houseplant in the UK, prized for its air-purifying qualities and lush, arching green fronds. It thrives in high-humidity environments like bathrooms and kitchens.
Place in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the delicate fronds. East facing windows are often ideal.
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water about once a week in spring and summer, and less frequently in winter. Using lukewarm water can help prevent shock.
Place the plant in a naturally humid room like a bathroom or spray 2 times a week with water.
Prefers a stable range between 18°C and 23°C. It can be moved outdoors to a shady spot in the summer if temperatures stay above 12°C, but must be brought back inside before the first frost.
Apply a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser monthly during the growing season (spring and summer).
