A highly prized evergreen shrub celebrated for its intoxicatingly sweet perfume and striking, gold-edged foliage. It is the most popular variety of winter daphne, providing beautiful structure, colour, and scent to your garden all year round.

Produces clusters of blush-pink flowers in late winter to early spring that fill the cold air with a famously strong, sweet perfume.

Lustrous, dark green leaves are framed by striking creamy-yellow (golden) margins.

Grows to an easy-to-manage height and spread of roughly 1.5m (4 - 5 ft), making it perfect for smaller gardens, beds, or borders.

Needs moist, fertile, sharply-drained and humus-rich soil. It detests sitting in cold, heavy water.

Prefers a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade. It is hardy down to around -10°C to -15°C.

Daphne resents root disturbance. Choose your planting spot carefully the first time, as moving established plants often leads to failure. Avoid heavy pruning; simply trim wayward branches after flowering.
