11cm Clematis - Rouge Cardinal

This is a popular, vigorous deciduous climber featuring large, velvety crimson-red flowers (10–15cm) with contrasting creamy-white stamens. Blooming from mid-summer to early autumn (June–September), it is ideal for covering walls, trellises, or growing in containers, reaching heights of up to 3m.

Deep, velvety cardinal-red to crimson, single flowers with red-brown anthers.

Generally hardy, H6 rating indicates it can withstand very cold winters.

Thrives in full sun or partial shade, though prefers to have its roots kept cool and shaded.

Soil: Prefers fertile, well drained, humus rich soil.

Pruning: Belongs to pruning group 3, meaning it should be pruned hard back to a pair of buds 20–30 cm above ground level in early spring.

Grows up to 3 meters in height with a spread of around 1 meter.

Comes in a 9cm pot with 30cm strand wrapped around a cane.
