11cm Clematis - Etoile Violette

The Clematis 'Etoile Violette' is a popular, robust, and vigorous deciduous climber .

It produces a profusion of deep violet-purple, 10cm wide flowers with cream stamens from mid to late summer (July–September). Ideal for walls, trellises, or scrambling through trees, it is a hardy Group 3 clematis.

Deep purple/violet with cream centers, 4-6 broad, velvety sepals.

Fast-growing; matures to a height of 3-4m and a spread of 1-1.5m.

Thrives in full sun or partial shade and is tolerant of exposed, windy sites.

Prefers fertile, well-drained, humus-rich soil.

Pruning (Group 3): Prune hard in early spring (February/March), cutting all stems back to about 20- 30cm above ground level to a strong pair of buds.

Hardiness: Fully hardy (H6), needing no winter protection.

Comes in a 9cm pot with 30cm strand wrapped around a cane.
